01

The challenge

Cicloenergia wanted an online store alongside the physical shop. It had to sell bicycles and fitness equipment and let customers book the workshop, a different kind of thing to sell.

02

What we built

We built a Shopify store with the catalogue split into cycling and fitness lines, workshop booking inside the store, inventory management, customer accounts and Mercado Pago.

Key features

  • Product categorization
  • Workshop booking
  • Local payment integration
  • Mobile-optimized design
  • Inventory management
  • Customer accounts
04

Results

The store is live with retail and workshop bookings in one place. Sales and booking figures are still being verified.

The operator note

Cicloenergia is a Bicico client, the same network we built Bicimarket for, so we arrived knowing how a Colombian cycling retailer runs. Retail and workshop are usually kept apart because they run on different logic: retail is stock-driven and transactional, a workshop is appointment-driven and built on relationships.

Putting both in one Shopify store meant treating a workshop booking as a product with inventory, where the stock is the mechanic's time slots, instead of bolting a booking form onto the side. Bookings are coming through the store, which tells us Colombian cycling buyers want one place for the purchase and the service. We are not quoting the booking rate until it is verified. The trade-off is that a mechanic's calendar now lives in Shopify, and keeping it accurate takes discipline.
